D1FY began with a stark realization: too many Ugandan youth face Type 1 diabetes alone—un diagnosed, unsupported, and without supplies.
We saw an opportunity to change that.
We go into communities to test for T1D, catch it early, and connect youth to care. We build circles of “Comradely” so no one feels alone. We educate families to break the stigma, and we provide medical kits to those who need them most.
